Several Areas Closed Following Severe Storms and Flooding

Following severe storms in the Louisville area on Monday night, several areas have been closed due to flooding.

Affected locations include:

  • Entrance to Broad Run Park at Bardstown Road
  • The Silo Center Bike Park in Turkey Run Park
  • The Strand Trailhead and areas north in The Strand (to John Floyd Fields in Pope Lick Park)
  • Trails south of John Floyd Fields in Pope Lick Park, including the Prairie Preserve Trail and Big Beech Woods Trail. The paved Louisville Loop is closed where it meets the Prairie Preserve Trail, between Mile Markers 67 and 66, and continuing south to The Strand Trailhead. The parking lot at John Floyd Fields is open.
  • All paddling accesses

Other areas that remain open may still be impacted by flooding in places. For example, the bridges at the northern and southern ends of the Humana Grand Allee in Beckley Creek Park have standing water around them.

Please respect all posted signs and barricades and exercise caution while using the trails. Thank you, and stay safe.
