Fishing

The original live-streaming.

Venture down into the thickets of undergrowth along the creek. Listen to the lisp and lapse of the current. Stick to the bank or wade into the stream, and cast your fishing line out into the channel. Throughout The Parklands, you can find public ponds, lakes, fishing piers, and Floyds Fork stocked with game fish and available for picnics and wildlife watching year-round.

Get Hooked.

As a habitat preserve, The Parklands links together fragments of forest and protects animal and plant species, including 20 species of freshwater mussels and 25 species of amphibians and reptiles. The Parklands is also home to over 40 species of fish, including striped shiners, rainbow darters, bluntnose minnows, central stonerollers, bass, catfish, and others. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife protects threatened flora and fauna, and also stocks Floyds Fork and select lakes with game fish. A fishing license is required for anglers over the age of 15, and a trout permit is required for trout fishermen. Practice catch and release in Floyds Fork to conserve the diversity of this fishery.
