We opened the Marshall Playground and Sprayground in Beckley Creek Park in 2011 — our first amenity available to the public. Today, we offer the Cliffside Playground and Sprayground in Broad Run Park, as well as the Pope Lick Park playground near John Floyds Fields. Come out and make a splash.
The playgrounds and picnic tables and restrooms of Marshall and Cliffside are open year-round, but we only turn on the water at the spraygrounds from May through September, weather permitting. A donation from Kosair Charities has helped fund the Cliffside facilities — an accessible, integrated space that allows for creative play and problem-solving for children of all abilities. We have “toddler” and “big kids” sections, but anyone can find summertime delight here. (Who doesn’t love water cannons and a three-loop spray tunnel?)
