VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
This month’s Volunteer Spotlight is shining on Kathy Fisher, one of our dedicated education volunteers. Over the past year, Kathy has been helping in the classroom with field trips, camps, and family programs in the PNC Achievement Center for Education and Interpretation. Volunteers like Kathy serve as an extension of our staff and help make all of our education programs a success!
What’s your favorite thing about being a Parklands volunteer?
“It’s such a positive thing. Everybody here is happy, having fun, and they care about their health. My favorite thing is really working with the kids because they’re so inquisitive about everything they learn. They get to walk through the creeks and find fossils. I also really enjoy when I’m in the park just as a walker or a bike rider, too. I just love it!”
What is your favorite trail in the park?
“Big Beech Woods! When you go there, you would think that you were in a national forest somewhere. It’s so beautiful, you can walk up the hills and have a view of Floyds Fork – it’s just gorgeous!”
Thank you, Kathy, for being a spectacular volunteer and giving of your time and talents to The Parklands.
