Buddy VanCleave

Buddy VanCleave joined The Parklands as a Park Ranger in 2016. In this role, he patrols all four parks during peak visitation and special events to help ensure park guests have a safe and fun experience. A Louisville native, Buddy spent a decade as an officer with LMPD, where he earned such awards as the LMPD Medal of Honor and LMPD Purple Heart. In 2003, he moved into special operations where he continues to support the department with major Louisville events, including the Kentucky Derby. When away from the park, Buddy enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
