Louisville Loop and Other Trail Closures in Broad Run and Turkey Run Parks

 

Phase I: Broad Run Park, Broad Run Valley area
Estimated to begin July 10

Beginning on Thursday, July 10*, the Louisville Loop in the Broad Run Valley area of Broad Run Park will be closed for approximately two weeks for trail and bridge maintenance. Leatherwood and Limestone Gorge Trails will be closed for the entire duration of the work.
During this time, there will be NO PUBLIC ACCESS in these areas. Please respect all posted signs and barricades for your safety and the safety of the work crew.
Trail and Parking Closures:

• The Louisville Loop, spanning from the Broad Run Valley parking lot in Broad Run Park (approximately Mile Marker 58.0) to Big Vista Overlook (approximately Mile Marker 56.3)
Leatherwood Trail
Limestone Gorge Trail, including the Limestone Gorge parking lot

Open Areas:
• Broad Run Parkway and all parking areas will remain open, excluding the Limestone Gorge lot
• The Louisville Loop south of the Big Vista Overlook will remain open. All other trails in Broad Run Park will also remain open
• Highland Crossing Trail will be open, but will have no access to the Loop during the duration of the work

Phase II: Turkey Run Park, Sky Meadow to Silo Center – Estimated to begin Late July

Once Phase I is complete and the area reopens, similar bridge and trail work will begin in Turkey Run Park, lasting about the same amount of time. Maintenance will primarily affect areas at the southern end of the park.
There will be NO PUBLIC ACCESS in these areas until work is completed. Please respect posted signs and barricades for your safety.
Trail and Parking Closures:
• The Louisville Loop, spanning from Sky Meadow at Turkey Run Parkway (approximately Mile Marker 60.7) to the northern side of the Brown-Forman Silo Center (approximately Mile Marker 59.0)
• Wild Hyacinth Trail

Open Areas:
• Turkey Run Parkway will remain open, along with all parking areas
• The Sky Meadow Excursion Trail will remain open, but will not have access to the Loop
• Paw Paw, Chinkapin, and Hickory Trails will remain open. The Loop closure in the Silo Center area will be just past the Paw Paw intersection and will not affect access to this trail
• The Silo Center Bike Park entrance will still be accessible
