Beckley Creek Park
Come to the five William F. Miles Lakes — Angler Lake, Dragonfly Lake, Wood Duck Lake, Green Heron Lake, and Snapping Turtle Lake — in northern Beckley Creek Park for some of the best overlooks and fishing areas in the region.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife stocks Angler and Green Heron Lakes with bass and bluegill and sunfish, plus rainbow trout in the winter and catfish in the summer. Green Heron Lake features an ADA-accessible fishing pier. Fishing is available at the William F. Miles Lakes year-round, but a valid Kentucky Fishing License is required for anyone over the age of 15.
