From the Silo Center in southern Turkey Run Park, the Paw Paw Trail winds up to Boulder Pond in the northern reach of the park. Hikers and mountain bikers going out this way had to come back the same route, so the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) built Hickory Trail almost parallel with Paw Paw to create an optional loop back to the Silo Center that offered a change of scenery.
