Brown-Forman Silo Center

Turkey Run Park

The Brown-Forman Silo Center is an event and trail hub in southern Turkey Run Park. Here you’ll find a trailhead with bike racks, restrooms, park maps, water fountains, and seating overlooking the bottomlands. Set out a picnic or toss around a frisbee at the Farmyard Lawn, a one-acre greenspace made possible by Texas Roadhouse. The paved walk around the lawn is 0.14 miles, but if you’re up for a longer excursion, venture out along the Louisville Loop, as well as a number of outlying trails. Thanks to a donation from the Brown-Forman Corporation, this former dairy farm has been retrofitted into a community event space containing a number of sites — the Pignic Barn, the Farmer’s Table, Hockensmith Barn, and the Silo Lookout. Gather with friends and family at the Farmer’s Table, built over the original feeding trough of the dairy farm. The Farmer’s Table is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and seats approximately 40 people. Reservable venues at this site include Hockensmith Barn and the Pignic Barn. Rent out multiple spaces to host a large-scale event.

Come up and see us sometime.

Standing sixty feet tall, the Silo Lookout commands views of a landscape checkered into fields and hickory groves and mazes of bike trails. Since you have to climb 109 steps to get to the observation platform, and there’s no elevator and no air-conditioning, we’ve equipped the stairs with handrails and installed a landing every 16 steps. Visitors with medical conditions should use their discretion as to whether they should attempt the climb, which is equal to taking the stairs in a six-story building. Please be courteous to others and follow our Silo Lookout Rules, and please note that water fountains turn off during the winter.

Attention all social butterflies.

Host your event with us and feel good about choosing The Parklands, since funds generated from facility rentals and permits support the annual operations of this donor-supported public park. Read up on the permits required for large group use or commercial activity use.
