Park at the Ben Stout House to access this soft-surface trail, circling the Squire Boone Bottoms. More than 30,000 trees were planted in the bottomland area as part of a reforestation project, so what looks like an open meadow now will grow into a young forest one day. While you’re here, visit Mussel Shoals, the gravel bar made of limestone and shale bedrock and embedded with fossils.
