Broad Run Park

At approximately 650 feet above sea level, the Big Vista Overlook is the highest point of Broad Run Park. From this height, you can see across the valley all the way to the Brown-Forman Silo Center. Nearby amenities include the Moss Gibbs Woodland Garden, Louisville Loop Trail and Leatherwood Trail.

Once an ancient lake, the valley below the overlook is still often wet, and the strip of land beneath an avenue of power lines that was recently put in would have been a forested swamp if farmers hadn’t cleared the forest and drained the wetlands. A small parking lot offers access to picnic tables where visitors can take in the view.
