Junior Explorer Campfire Night

On Saturday evening, September 16th, a group of curious and eager to learn young explorers, aged 5-12, together with their parents gathered in front of the Ben Stout House in Turkey Run Park. Their journey began with a one-hour hike on the Wild Hyacinth Trail, learning about nocturnal and crepuscular animals from interpretive ranger Erin Kinnetz. What creature captured the groups’ attention the most? Definitely the salamander!

Once the hike was over, the Junior Explorers returned to their meeting place, warmed up around the fire pit, made delicious S’mores and even shared some scary stories! Everyone agreed that evenings like this make you want to ask for (S)’more!
