GRANT WILL HELP CLEAR OBSTRUCTION ON FLOYDS FORK – THE COURIER JOURNAL
A $22,000 federal grant from the Natural Resources Conservation Service, an arm of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will help remove an obstruction on Floyds Fork underneath the Taylorsville Road bridge.
The grant will go to hire a contractor to use heavy equipment to remove the obstruction of logs and debris under the bridge.
The project is a partnership of 21st Century Parks, which is developing The Parklands recreation corridor, and Metro Councilman Stuart Benson, R-20th District. Benson is providing an additional $3,000 for the project, and the non-profit parks organization is providing $3,000 to cover the project’s total $28,000 cost.
