Go365 by Humana Rewards Members for Getting Active in Louisville’s Parks

Louisville has 120 parks and 13,000 acres of public land, earning the area the name “City of Parks.” Louisville is also the hometown of leading health and well-being company Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM). In March, Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation, Louisville Waterfront Park, 21st Century Parks and Humana are joined together to introduce a wellness initiative that rewards people for spending time in nature.

The three Louisville park systems have incorporated Humana-patented beacons, which reward Go365™ members for getting active at one of the 54 participating Louisville parks, including 10 public golf courses. Go365 is Humana’s wellness and rewards program available to employers and groups across the country.

“As Humana strives to improve the health of the Louisville community through our Bold Goal, we want to leverage the opportunities we have literally in our backyard,” said Humana Medical Director and Louisville resident Dr. Bryan Loy. “We believe there are physical and mental benefits from spending time in nature, and now we’re acknowledging our members who choose to go to a park just like we do for members who go to the gym. This initiative also demonstrates the power of collaboration as we work with our fellow corporations, government representatives, and non-profits to inspire healthy behaviors.”

Using Bluetooth and location-based mobile technology, Go365 offers members a way to earn rewards at the parks by checking in with their mobile device using the Go365 app (available for iPhones and Androids) “beacon check in” feature under “account & settings.” Rewards can be redeemed at the Go365 Mall to purchase e-gift cards, fitness devices, apparel, charitable donations and product discounts.

“We are very excited to participate with our peers and Humana in offering Go365 beacons throughout The Parklands of Floyds Fork,” said Mike Nielsen, vice president of finance and operations for 21st Century Parks. “Humana’s goal of improving health and wellness in our community is closely aligned with what The Parklands offers our community; a fantastic natural setting to exercise, explore and get away from the frantic pace of everyday life.”
