Experiential Learning Cycle

Experiential Learning Cycle

Over the past six months, the acronym NTI has become common language for both students and parents. Non-traditional instruction and virtual learning have created many challenges for students and also for parents who are becoming teachers for maybe the first time. If you are a parent and are looking for ways to keep your child engaged with virtual learning, The Parklands Outdoor Classroom has some resources for you.

Over the past six years, we have built an education program at The Parklands that centers around one thing—outdoor exploration. School field trips, summer camps, Wednesday Wonders, and our newest program—The Forest Learning Lab—all strive to give students hands-on learning experiences that combine education with outdoor exploration. What we have learned in these six years is that exploration, combined with wonder, creativity, and reflection inspires meaningful learning.

Below is an outline of this six-step experiential education model that can be used to inspire learning of the most significance—forming a vital connection between content and world. So check out the resources below, and start “experiencing” the world with your student!
