A new canoe launch has been opened by 21st Century Parks on Floyds Fork.

The launch is at 6500 Echo Trial Road and opens public access to about a 3.5-mile section of the creek to paddlers. The new access offers an alternative to canoeists on Floyds Fork who want to avoid the disruption and inconvenience caused by ongoing construction of facilities at Beckley Creek Park.

The non-profit 21st Century Parks is developing the canoe launch as part of its large Parklands project along more than 25 miles of Floyds Fork. The new canoe route “provides paddlers with a beautiful float route through some of the most scenic and rugged parts of the Parklands,” said Scott Martin, the organization’s spokesman.
