Bald Eagle Released in Beckley Creek Park

On Saturday, December 7, 2019, hundreds of seasoned and novice birdwatchers lined the Country Lane Walk of the Humana Grand Allee as Raptor Rehabilitation of Kentucky released a rehabilitated bald eagle in Beckley Creek Park. The mature, female eagle had spent eight months in rehabilitation after suffering severe injuries to her wing and leg. Staff at Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife recommended The Parklands for the release as it contains suitable habitat to help the eagle thrive.

Raptor Rehabilitation of Kentucky, Inc. was formed to rehabilitate injured raptors, raise orphaned birds of prey, and increase public awareness about the importance of raptors. Raptor Rehab of KY is a non-profit, 501(3)(c) organization that receives no funds from state or federal governments, and supports itself entirely by generous contributions. All donations are fully tax deductible. Learn more and donate at www.raptorrehab.org
