Outdoor Adventure Summer Camp

Beckley Creek Park, Pope Lick Park

Our Parklands Outdoor Adventure Day Camps let kids experience nature up close. We offer these exploration-based summer camps to children in grades K–10th grade across three separate age groups (K-3rd Grade, 4th-6th Grade, and 7th-10th Grade). Children participate in hands-on science investigations outdoors and in our classrooms.

All of our camp programs balance in-classroom learning with hands-on outdoor explorations, so kids can be kids. Summer activities include hiking, fishing, field games, archery, kayaking, biking, arts and crafts, and creek walking. Campers must bring a snack, a bottle of water, and their own sack lunch each day. Parklands Members receive a discounted camp price. Camp hours are 9 AM–4 PM. Drop-off is from 8:30 – 9 a.m. and pick-up is from 4 – 4:30 p.m.

Camp meeting locations are based on age group and are as follows:

K-3rd Grade meet at the PNC Achievement Center in Beckley Creek Park

4th-6th Grade meet at the PNC Achievement Center in Beckley Creek Park

7th-10th Grade meet at the John Floyd Community Building in Pope Lick Park
