Earth Day Fest!

Broad Run Park

Celebrate Earth Day with us on April 19th from 5pm-9pm with live music, food, beer, trivia, games, community partners, vendors, and much more! Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22nd, to raise awareness and support for environmental protection but The Parklands is getting the party started early with Earth Day Fest on Friday and a creek sweep on Saturday.  Earth Day Fest will be held at the Woodland Pavilion, the Woodland Garden, and the Greensward area of Broad Run Park. Check back closer to the date for a full list of vendors, musicians, and community partners as well as a more detailed schedule of events.

Schedule of events:

5:00 – 7:00: Woodland Garden Music Walk – Enjoy a self-guided hike through the Moss Gibbs Woodland Garden. Various acoustic musicians and ephemeral art installations will be stationed throughout the garden from 5pm-7pm. Artists include Emily Ravenscroft (Violin), Lauren Morris (Flute), and Aaron Daley (Dulcimer)

7:00-9:00: Music by Pennyroyal and Trivia in the Woodland Pavilion – A live band will be playing in the Woodland Pavilion, bring a chair to enjoy the band from the lawn. During breaks in the band short rounds of nature trivia will be played, hosted by The Parklands. To participate get a trivia paper from The Parklands table, when it comes time to play, write down your answers and turn them into the trivia host. Trivia rounds will last approx. 30 minutes and prizes will be awarded after each round!

5:00 – 9:00: Vendor booths, food trucks, beer vendors, field games, and community partner tables will be set up to browse throughout the event.  A selection of guided hikes and Earth-day-related mini workshops will be offered throughout the event as well.
